I’m a Classics professor at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and enjoy writing on a range of subjects, from the Classical to the personal to the political. I’m the author of Horace Between Slavery and Freedom: The First Book of Epistles (Madison, 2015) and am currently working on two English translations of Latin poetry: Horace’s Epodes and Odes and Ovid’s Metamorphoses. I’ve published essays in Electric Literature, Literary Hub, Eidolon, The Millions, Entropy, Avidly, Gucci Stories, and elsewhere. I studied Classics and English as an undergraduate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and then earned an M.A. and Ph.D. in Classics at the University of Virginia.
